Mom seemed so tired today. She dislikes all the medical stuff they do to her. At least they untied her arms today. She found the feeding tube after we told her her nose wasn't running. She didn't believe us. I'm not sure she's remembering much. I told her about the pacemaker this morning when they came in to check her for one. Then she asked again. She keeps asking about little Dougie too. It's hard to understand what she's mouthing because of the breathing tube. When in doubt we always say, "You want a blanket?" Usually that works but not always.
She's been sitting up and the physical therapists have been moving her limbs a few times a day. She can't be moved as much until the temporary pacemaker is removed. When Marci and I arrived Thursday night she was sitting in a chair. She's doing great stuff. Her back hurts very much though from lifting too much before surgery so she loves getting out of the laying down position. They even had her standing today!
Hopefully, if all goes well, that painful breathing tube can come out after the surgery but I can see them saying they want her to have it one more night. Usually they turn on the breathing machine at night so she can rest from all that hard work breathing through a straw. Try it, it sure sucks (pun intended).
