Not much has changed

There isn't much change in moms energy. She's worn out from physical therapy and didn make it home to visit Monday night like she wanted to. The care center is really giving her a workout to get her stronger. She's gone working 3 hours a day so its getting harder to catch her in her room. Then ther are her breathing treatments and throat therapy sessions. She's busy all day long. We are trying to cut back visits so she can concentrate on recovery. She did sleep better the other night. Hope there's many more of those nights to come. Bonnie failed her throat swallow test again so she wont be eating food this week. I know she's frustrated. Tomorrow she sees the plastic surgeon about her bed sore. That has been so painful for her and is healing so slowly. If it weren't for that she'd be home. My oldest brother Scott and his daughter katie drove down from Washington to see my mom. It's been nice to have them here. Hoping there is good news from that doctor and some food for my momma soon.

Bonnie was too tired to join our family dinner tonight at my sister's house. The grand kids were disappointed but we will get together again.

Getting better a little each day

We visited my mom tonight in the new care center again. Think she's starting to like it more. Hopefully she will want to get out of her room more soon. My hubby, Doug,and I took her for a spin around the block in a wheel chair and gave her the grand tour of the place. Not much to see on a Saturday night. Bonnie left the care center for a bit today with my brother Greg. She got to go home for a few minutes and she grabbed more clothes. Mom is a clothing border. She loves clothing. We are going to bring her to a family get together soon. Will be nice to have her feeling good again and moving around on her own. For now she's so tired and says she hasn't slept in weeks. The nurse is giving her a different sleeping pill. Hope this works better. Here's the most recent photo-she pulled this outfit together somehow. Can't get photo to load will try again tomorrow. Now in Bountiful!

Bonnie is now residing at the Avalon care center in Bountiful. This is at 523 N Main St room 105. Visiting hours end at 8 or 9pm. Sorry not sure yet. Room phone is 801-951-1719 but remember she doesn't have much of a voice. So If you are deaf like my dad-don't call her. She moved Wednesday afternoon. She is still on oxygen and has her feeding tube but is less confined now. She really wants to be at home and seemed sad today. I told her they had a beauty shop and she perked up. Arranging for a hair cut so she can feel good again. I told her she'd be there a week and that made her sad. Truth be told she'll Probably be there 2-3 weeks. Please feel free to visit her as much as you like. She's closer to more friends and family now so I am counting on others to get by now that she's so much farther from me. Thanks to everyone who's sent flowers, cards and payed visits to mom. We all appreciate your thoughts, prayers and help.

END IS COMING?

One month ago today, Bonnie checked into the hospital for a 5 day stay. Funny how complicated the original plan became. However, she has stopped on the door to heaven and returned. It is a miracle how she came out of such a devistating surgery and can now start to function as she once did. Although just sitting up tires her she is doing better each day and growing stronger.

Again we were told she will be moving to a care center today. It sounds like her bed sore has healed some since last week and she can finally go. Will keep you updated with the plans.

More waiting

More days at IMC until the bed sore starts to get better. The nurse is suggesting Bonnie go to LDS hospital instead of the care center in Bountifu since they specialize in wound care. So please feel free to stop. By and see Bonnie if you are nearby in the next few days. She's been feeling better and really enjoys the company.

The bed sore has gotten too bad so they are having a plastic surgeon come look at it. Not going to move her today.
